about.

DISO's dissolvable vitamin strips came with a brief built around a hard legal wall: under BCAP Code section 13, no healthcare, nutrition or medical claim can be made about the product. You can say it's easy to take. You cannot say it works. The client also asked for a witty, upbeat, quirky tone aimed at a lifestyle-minded audience, and for on-brand visual styling to make the spot unmistakably DISO. So the challenge was to sell a benefit I was forbidden from stating.

I resolved it structurally — put all thirty seconds of effort into the problem, and let the solution arrive silently in the final frame. Every sleep remedy the internet has ever offered, escalating past the point of reason, then a reveal that does the selling without a word: his partner has been asleep the whole time, DISO on the nightstand. To keep chaos from reading as mess, I built the film on rhythm: an original score riffing on the three-note motif from Bizet's Habanera, with every jump cut and gag timed to the beat. Warm, lamp-lit night interiors and neat, balanced framing kept the comedy polished rather than silly, and the whole piece stayed in a single studio apartment — one location, tightly boarded, shot to a music track locked in pre-production.
