General Operator (Training Series)

MosaiQ was Quotient’s all-in-one rapid blood testing instrument, and this series was built to train the people who would operate it day to day. Each episode covers a part of running the machine, starting with initialisation, and the videos were delivered both as standalone films and cut into sections for Quotient’s learning modules.

The camerawork covers what an operator sees and touches, and motion graphics fill in the rest: labelling the specific parts of the instrument that need attention, animating the scientific processes happening inside that can’t be filmed, and recreating the on-screen interface to show exactly where to tap and what happens next. Shooting inside the machine with probe lenses called for heavy light rigging, but it meant the series could show operators the inside of the instrument rather than just describe it.
